This product is whole lot of fun the only problem is you have to load 1 dart at a time and it takes a long time. It is a lot of fun to shoot though. It is not autimatic so if you thought rapid ment that it was it's not. It means that you can cok it fast and soot them all inn like a minute. but it gets jammed a lot. I think it is well warth the price.

When I first took this toy out of the packaging, I was so excited, then I tried to use the pump action...it didn't work. After some considerable force and a resounding *Crack* the pump action finally functioned...as smoothly as whittling bamboo. I filled the drum magazine and tried it fully loaded, the choppy slide cut down on accuracy. On the second day of playing with the gun, the slide started jamming again, I tried forcing it again and with one more *Crack* the pump broke completely and ceased to do any good.

I returned it for another raider...I found the pump on the fresh one nearly immobile again! I returned the new one with the same problem and got some DVDs.

I'll admit it was fun while it lasted, but there is no excuse for this level in defection!

Terrible for several reasons. 1, the slam-handle was almost impossible to pull back. 2, the jam door wouldnt open. 3, when I finally managed to shoot it, the whole inernal mechanism shattered and springs flew out of the barrel. I am an experienced nerfer, and all my guns worked fine. Except for this one. This probably was just a coincidence, not that every nerf Raider will break instantly like mine. I am going to return it, and exchange it for a new one.

I was so looking forward to going to war. I was looking forward to what Conan would say is best in life, "To crush your enemies -- See them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women." Speaking of movies and quotes, there is a quote at the beginning of Black Hawk Down, which was turned into a movie, "...Before man was, war waited for him. The ultimate trade waiting for the ultimate practitioner."

Now how am I suppose to be the ultimate practitioner with this worthless piece of $#!+ gun? Really, I bought one on Amazon and it came and the front handle didn't pull back at all...I read the instructions more than once; for I have that type of leisure time waiting to be used up. There is a quote by Nels F. S. Ferre, "A man who experiences no genuine satisfaction in life does not want peace. People court war to escape meaninglessness and boredom, to be relieved of fear and frustration. Well, this gun brought no war, and instead more frustration. Finally, I bought another, figuring I got a defective one. The next one I bought at Target on 10/10/09...and it had the same problem. Suspicious that it was operator error (me being an idiot), I check on line, on reviews, on nerf sites, nothing. I think it might have been quality control issues.

This makes me now see a little of what it must have been like for the first soldiers in Vietnam who got the M16 A1s that would jam up on them. I can now relate to that experience fully...having two of these fail completely on me.

So now I wait to see if at some later point, if I read enough good reviews, do I dare try a 3rd time... will it be 3 strikes and I am out, or the other cliche?

I just hope by the time I get a working one, I am not so out of control angry I go up into a tower at some family function and rain foam death upon them all...

...I'll probably do something like this anyway

What is best in life

"To crush your friends, to see them cower before you, to lay upon them a storm of darts, and to hear the lamentation of their women who want attention and for them to stop playing nerf with me."
-Sam Kochel

p.s. this product will not achieve this quote, it sucked!
